Day One: Arrival Day New Orleans

Prepare for a truly unforgettable start to our Thunderstik adventure!

Arrive in Sioux Falls, the “Heart of America,” by 3:00 pm, and soak up the vibrant energy of this warm and welcoming city. From here, we’ll journey to the storied grounds of the Historic Thunderstik Lodge, where every corner whispers tales of tradition and camaraderie. Upon arrival, settle into your new home-away-from-home before joining us for a lively Welcome Happy Hour—a chance to connect, laugh, and toast to the days ahead with new friends by your side.

As evening falls, we’ll be pampered by Thunderstik’s in-house chef with a gourmet dinner that makes each bite a celebration. And just when you think the day couldn’t be more perfect, gather around a crackling bonfire to watch the sun dip below the horizon, painting the Missouri River in hues of amber and rose. The warmth of the fire and the beauty of the view promise a peaceful close to a memorable first day.

Fun Fact: Did you know the Missouri River is the longest river in North America, stretching over 2,300 miles? Known as the “Big Muddy,” it’s been a vital waterway for centuries, from Native American trade routes to the Lewis and Clark Expedition! Tonight, we’ll watch the sunset over this legendary river, connecting with its rich history.

Day Two: Sunrise, Shooting, and The Second Amendment

Start your day with a breathtaking alfresco breakfast overlooking the majestic Missouri River and Thunderstik’s private buffalo herd. If the morning air is crisp, we’ll gather fireside to enjoy a hearty meal while soaking in the scenery. After breakfast, take some time to explore the stunning grounds with a group walk, capturing photos of the buffalo, or simply unwinding and sharing laughs with new friends. For dog lovers, the morning offers a unique chance to help walk Thunderstik’s 24 legendary pheasant dogs—a true highlight for any animal lover!

Following a casual lunch at the lodge, we’ll head out for an exciting clay shooting experience across Thunderstik’s diverse shooting ranges. After a comprehensive gun safety lesson, you’ll have the chance to test your skills at different ranges:

Whether you’re a first-time shooter or experienced, this dynamic session provides an opportunity for everyone to have fun and build confidence. Guns and ammo are included for your convenience.

As evening arrives, gather for a delicious dinner prepared by Thunderstik’s talented chef. The night will be filled with relaxation, fun card games, and fireside bonding, offering even more quality time with your new adventure companions.

Get ready for an awe-inspiring day as we embark on a private guided tour of the breathtaking Badlands National Park. We’ll start the day with a hearty, buffet-style breakfast at the lodge, fueling up for the adventure ahead. By 9 AM, we’ll depart for the Badlands, where you’ll marvel at the dramatic landscapes and unique geological formations that make this park so special.

Midway through the tour, we’ll pause for a scenic box lunch picnic, taking in the natural beauty around us. After exploring the Badlands, we’ll stop by the iconic town of Wall, SD, where you can enjoy shopping and sightseeing at your leisure. In the evening, we’ll return to the lodge for a delicious dinner, followed by a relaxing night around the bonfire, with a beautiful sunset as the backdrop.

Drift along the calm waters, surrounded by breathtaking views of the natural landscape—a peaceful way to reflect on the adventures of the past few days. In the evening, we’ll return to the lodge for a special Goodbye Dinner, celebrating the unforgettable moments shared. We’ll end the evening around a cozy bonfire, recounting stories, laughter, and memories made with new friends.
